Welcome to the ralphdahlgren.com website. This site is intended to demonstrate the Etomite Content Management System software package. It also serves as a means of displaying examples of my programming and web development capabilities.

This site is proof that developers can create fully functional sites which are cross-browser compatible and are also fully XHTML 1.1 and CSS compliant. That's right, every page will validate to the strictest standards and won't break in todays most popular browsers. It even works with Internet Explorer! Go ahead, use the validators in the left column to check pages individually, or check the entire site using the WDG site validator to check all pages for proper XHTML compliance. If, by chance, you happen to discover a page that does not validate, rest assured that this is most likely due to ongoing development and that the oversight will be resolved in the near future.

Almost anyone can slap together a few pages of information and publish them on the internet, but few take the time to do the job properly. Most aren't even aware that web standards even exist - and if they do they just don't care about meeting those standards. It really isn't all that difficult to write valid code once you decide to take the time to learn how. Unfortunately, far too many developers are only interested in making a buck and could care less about doing the job right. Well, money isn't everything and I'd rather do the job right if I'm going to have my name associated with the finished product. I have pride in my work - a trait you don't find very often in my line of work.
